Terms of Service

SXO runs automated scans of websites and returns reports: a technology fingerprint, a CRM and marketing gap analysis, and an AI-readiness and SEO audit with a prioritised fix list. We also sell written fixes, where we rewrite a page’s content and metadata for you. What each product does is described on its own page under Scans.

Scans read information that is already public. We do not log into anything on your behalf and we do not need access to a site to scan it.

Your first scan needs no account. Beyond that you create one, and you are responsible for what happens under it, including keeping your sign-in details to yourself. Tell us promptly if you think someone else is using it. You must be 16 or older and, if you are agreeing on behalf of a company, authorised to bind it.

• Free scans. Your first scan is free. Creating an account adds more. Free scans are per person, and using multiple accounts to multiply them is a breach of these terms.
• Credits. Credit packs are bought once and do not expire. One successful scan consumes one credit. A scan that fails because our service errored does not consume a credit.
• Plans. A monthly plan includes an allowance that refills each billing cycle and does not roll over. Plans renew automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time from your dashboard, effective at the end of the period you have paid for.
• One-off purchases. Written fixes and deeper reports are charged per item at the price shown at checkout.

Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax we are required to add. We can change prices, but a change never applies to credits you have already bought or to the period you have already paid for.

If the service does not do what this site says it does, email us within 14 days and we will refund you. That is the whole policy and we do not intend to argue about it.

Two honest exceptions. Unused credits are refundable within 14 days of purchase; credits you have already spent on scans that ran are not. And a written fix that has been delivered is not refundable simply because you disagree with the wording — tell us and we will revise it instead.

These tools point at other people’s websites, which is normal and lawful for public information, and we expect it to be used the way a salesperson researches a prospect. The rules:

• Scan publicly reachable websites only. Do not use SXO against anything behind a login, a paywall or a private network.
• Do not use the reports to attack, exploit or gain unauthorised access to any site, or to identify vulnerabilities in order to abuse them.
• Do not use contact details found by a scan to send unlawful bulk email, and follow the marketing law that applies where your recipients are.
• Do not automate, scrape, resell or rebuild the service, or run it at a volume designed to degrade it. Bulk scanning through the features we provide for it is fine; hammering the API is not.
• Do not misrepresent a report as an official audit, a security certification, or the work of anyone other than you and us.

We may suspend an account that breaks these rules. Where we do, we will say why, and we will refund unused credits unless the breach was deliberate abuse.

A scan is an automated reading of a live website at a moment in time. We work hard to make it accurate and every technology detection names the evidence behind it, but detection is inference: a site can hide what it runs, and a site can change the minute after we look. Treat a report as strong evidence, not as proof.

We do not promise rankings or results. Nobody can honestly promise that a change will make Google, ChatGPT, Perplexity or any AI assistant rank, cite or mention a page, because none of those systems is under our control or published in full. What we promise is that the checks we run are the ones we describe, and that the fixes we recommend are the ones we would make ourselves.

The service is provided as is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and reports are for your own commercial judgement, not legal, financial or security advice.

You own your data and the reports generated for your account, and you may use them with your clients, including under your own brand where the product allows it. We own SXO itself: the scanners, the scoring, the site and the brand. Nothing here transfers that to you, and you may not copy or reverse engineer it.

Written fixes we deliver become yours to publish once paid for. We may use anonymised, aggregated scan data — never your identity or your clients’ — to improve the scoring.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim connected with SXO is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for lost profits, lost business or indirect losses.

Nothing here limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

You can stop using SXO and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or withdraw the service entirely with reasonable notice — in which case we refund unused credits and any unused part of a plan.

We update these terms from time to time and the date at the top changes with them. A change that materially reduces what you get is notified to account holders by email before it takes effect. This version is dated 12 September 2026.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, and the courts there have jurisdiction, without affecting any consumer right you have to bring a claim locally.
